The role you’ll contribute:
Knowledgeable of CDC guidelines and definitions of healthcare associated infections, the Joint Commission (TJC) standards, and federal and state regulations. Responsible for the identification, investigation, reporting, prevention and control of healthcare associated infections among patients and personnel. Responsible for assisting with in-service programs related to infection prevention and accreditation requirements. Works collaboratively with the Infection to ensure continuous readiness and compliance with all accrediting body and regulatory agency requirements.

Leads Infection Prevention
Serves as an expert regarding CDC guidelines for infection prevention in healthcare and definitions of healthcare associated infections, TJC standards, and federal and state regulations
Serves as an expert regarding infection prevention processes.
Attends continuing education programs and maintains current knowledge of aspects of infection prevention.
Develops and implements a system for identifying, investigating, reporting, and preventing the spread of healthcare associated infections among patients.
Completes required communicable disease reports to the public health department in a timely and accurate manner.
Assists in the development, implementation, and improvement of infection prevention practices.
Monitors methods of asepsis, sterilization, and disinfection.
Reviews and/or revises policies and procedures related to infection prevention. Analyzes policies for internal consistency and compliance with accreditation standards through the evaluation of information.
Designs and implements new methods to improve the efficiency and outcomes of the Infection Prevention Program.
Serve as an expert resource on accreditation and regulatory issues.
Provide consultation to relevant task forces and committees to ensure ongoing compliance with Infection Prevention standards.
Facilitates Regulatory/Accreditation Compliance Efforts.
Maintains knowledge of national, state and local regulatory and accreditation requirements, as it pertains to the State Statutes, CMS Conditions of Participation (CoP), and Joint Commission (TJC) standards.
Communicates with and educates associates and medical staff on TJC standards.
Acts as the liaison for surveyors during on-site survey activities (preparation, planning, coordinating, etc.)
Communicates and facilitates necessary changes in order to remain continuously compliant with accreditation standards.
Proactively seeks opportunities/mechanisms aimed at continually improving patient care, processes and compliance.
Facilitates the creation of an effective action plan in response to identified issues.
The expertise and experience you’ll need to succeed:
Required qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or Bachelors degree in health science healthcare or related field.
- Delivery, public health, laboratory science, or related field.
- 3 years health-care experience.
- Working knowledge of microbiology, epidemiology, infectious diseases, aseptic techniques, and current practices relative to infection prevention
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's
- Experience in infection prevention preferred and healthcare accreditation
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure
