Job Description

The MSK Security Guard is responsible for protecting the life and property of MSKCC patients, visitors and staff in a courteous and caring manner at our Bergen County. As part of this team, you will monitor building entrances, interior floors, and outside perimeters of MSK buildings. Conduct investigations of certain incidents and prepare written reports. You will be required to respond to emergency incidents and render necessary assistance.

Role Overview:

• Valid New Jersey State Security Guard License (SORA)
• Ability to obtain Fire and Life Safety Director, Certificate of Fitness
• Fire Guard (F)-1 required
• Physical ability to react/respond quickly to emergencies, including life threatening situations, disorderly conduct, aggressive behaviors, crowd control, etc.
• Ability to work in inclement weather conditions.
• Standing, walking and/or continuously moving around
• Visual ability to monitor instruments and computers, distinguish characters (letters, numbers, etc); recognize colors, observe physical characteristics, etc.
• Knowledge of emergency preparedness concepts
• Knowledge of basic security concepts and procedures
• Knowledge and practice good ethical behavior
• Basic computer skills.
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent telephone skills
• Flexibility to work other shifts as needed
• Excellent customer service skills

Key Qualifications:

• Experience working as a Security Guard in a facility requiring (SORA) NJ Security Guard license
• Interest in Healthcare, Criminal Justice, and/or Security Technology

Hours:

full-time; 37.5 hrs per wk - hours will be between 6 am - 11 pm
