The community you’ll be caring for: AdventHealth Waterman - 1000 WATERMAN WAY, Tavares, 32778
The role you’ll contribute:Registers, schedules, obtains authorizations and verifies insurance for outpatient service of the Wound and Hyperbaric Center.Provides clerical support to the department and assists in coordination of new referrals and ongoing patient management.

·Demonstrates skill and proficiency when entering registration, scheduling and while obtaining authorizations/verifying insurance for outpatient services.
·Uses proper terminology and codes when inputting order and diagnosis information.
·Demonstrates proficiency when performing patient transfer/rollover task and documents all activity in admitting notes.
·Answers phone calls in a courteous and professional manner, routes calls and takes messages appropriately.
·Works with financial counselors to obtain appropriate information for verification and evaluation of patient’s financial obligations.
·Coordinates and performs all required monthly statistical analysis information for the wound care department.
·Provides assistance with any charge related issues related to the department.
·Compiles various monthly reports, collecting data for special projects.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
REQUIRED:
·High school diploma/equivalent required.
·Proficient with computer data entry
·Basic and advanced computer skills.
·Medical terminology
·Proficient in using multiple computer applications interchangeably.
·Ability to communicate professionally with an acceptable use of English and spelling.
·Ability to follow directions.
·Ability to work independently in most situations while multitasking.
·Ability to work with people of various diverse backgrounds.
·Customer service skills
PREFERRED:
·Insurance experience preferred.
·Hospital admitting experience and medical terminology helpful.
