The Manager Public Safety, plans, manages and directs a facility's daily security operations to ensure a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, medical staff, and employees by conducting security assessments, inspections drills and in services while ensuring compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements. Healthcare background is preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
Supervises and head subordinates in enforcing laws, ordinances, policies and procedures that promote public safety.
Develops, implements, and monitors various programs to promote the safety and security of patients, visitors, and staff at managed facility(s).
Reviews and participates in the development of policies and Standard Operating Guidelines.
Assesses personnel and asset needs necessary for Security operations.
Conducts operational level inquiries into citizen complaints regarding Security Officers. Handles sensitive investigations and information in a professional manner, safeguarding confidential information obtained through investigation or from Law Enforcement authorities.
Reviews Use of Force incidents and personnel training mandates to ensure legal compliance.
Interacts with community to address security and crime concerns, safety training and crime prevention.
Ensures that customer service requests (from patients, visitors, employees, department heads, medical staff and/or administration) are responded to in a timely manner.
Controls and regulate vehicle and pedestrian traffic, including but not limited to, parking for visitors, employees, patients, and medical staff.
Develops, facilitates, and manages department budget.
