Job Summary

Responsible for all data entry into databases. Compiles and submits reports for approval to investigators. Maintains databases and collaborates in the collection of documentation and information from the departments related to patient recruitment. Provides clerical and administrative support to the study staff.

Job Specific Duties

Assists study staff with any concerns or questions by promptly providing the information and feedback as requested. 

• Enters data in databases, generates reports, performs data/database maintenance, performs data tracking, and performs queries. 
  
• Maintains and updates patient information in the data base; ensures that data is collected, input and reported appropriately and completely; provides feedback to clinical and administrative staff in Research regarding any concerns; ensures database reflects documentation of the patient record and update when needed. 
  
• Provides auditable trail of documentation with consistency among database, records and required reports. 
  
• Provides reports on grant progress and assists in troubleshooting. 
  
• Serves as liaison for Research Institute with all departments involved with the study. 
  
• Responsible for the daily management/support (adds/edits/updates) of the Clinical Trails Management Software (CTMS) for the Nicklaus Children's Hospital Research Institute. Receives and processes new studies through the CTMS digitization process and updates the necessary research staff of updates. 
  
• Assists with creating budget shells/schedules for new and existing (amended) study protocols. 
  
• Responsible for new study and study amendment protocol digitization and creation of study visit calendar in CTMS. 
  
• Assists and collaborates with Research Institute Educator on CTMS training and development. 

Qualifications

Minimum Job Requirements

• Associate degree in Healthcare, Information Systems, Business or related (OR) 2 years of healthcare experience (Required)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to communicate in English and Spanish, both verbally and in writing.Data entry experience preferred.
• Familiarity with the computer based tracking systems.
• Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Able to relate cooperatively and constructively with clients and co-workers.
• Ability to follow detailed written or verbal instructions.
