Full time, 12 hour day, every other weekend schedule
Summary: Under the supervision of the Administrative Lieutenant, assists in the supervision of Public Safety Dispatchers. Ensures assigned systems are operating efficiently and effectively. Upholds the mission, vision, values and customer service standards of Children's Hospital Medical Center of Akron (CHMCA).
2.Manages day to day activities including creating and maintaining fair and effective schedules and assignments, including time off requests.
3.Assists the Administrative Lieutenant in managing the radio communication systems.
4.Perform dispatcher duties as required
5.Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by Command Staff.
Other information: Technical Expertise 1.Experience in hospital radio systems.
2.Experience with CAD/RMS software.
3.Experience with dispatch consoles.
Education and Experience 1.Must be 21 years of age or older at time of hire.
2.Associate's Degree in a related field preferred. In lieu of an Associate's Degree, possess a minimum of six years of job related experience in law enforcement/public safety dispatching, or combination of Secondary education and job related experience is required.
3.Previous supervisor experience in law enforcement/public safety dispatching preferred. a.Possess one or more 9-1-1 Dispatcher Certifications, including, but not limited to National Emergency Communication Institute (NECI), Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO), Powerphone Law Enforcement Dispatch Certification, or Cuyahoga Community College Emergency Dispatcher Certificate.
4.Must be able to obtain LEADS operator certification within 60 days of hire and maintain certification throughout employment.
5.Successfully complete a thorough background investigation.
6.Demonstrate psychological fitness evaluated by a Psychologist designated by the Department of Public Safety Director and Chief.
