The Division of Allergy, Immunology and Pulmonary Medicine at Vanderbilt supports a robust and growing research program focused onclinical research to help understand and improve the care of children with asthma. Clinical and translational research efforts are directed at the pathogenesis of asthma in early life and approaches to asthma management throughout childhood, including multi-center federally funded clinical trials in asthma.
Under the guidance and supervision of the Principal Investigator, the Research Nurse Specialist III will work with the recruiter to organize all recruitment activities and with the RA to organize all other study activities. She familiarizes potential subjects with the details of the study through phone contacts and personal interviews, schedules subject participation in research, coordinating availability of necessary space, laboratory and physician support. Is familiar with all records required for each study, reviews records after each visit for completeness and accuracy. Transfers source documentation into Case Report Form (CRF) within 24 hours of subject visit. The RN will be responsible for submitting all regulatory documents as well as participate in weekly conference calls with the other sites.
