This position is responsible for developing the strategic plan, setting goals and objectives and initiatives of the UC Health Specialty and Home Delivery Pharmacy enterprise, and ensuring goals and objectives are met. This position will lead the specialty pharmacy enterprise and manage those which oversee and direct day-to-day operations. This position will manage relationships of internal and external stakeholders. This position is responsible for strategic planning of specialty pharmacy, service line growth, forecasting service line growth, business plan development and managing all lines of service line profit and loss.

Licensed as a Registered Pharmacist in the State of California or licensed within 6 months of being hired.
Doctor of Pharmacy degree (Pharm D) from an ACPE certified school of pharmacy, or equivalent training.
Knowledge relevant to the practice of pharmacy.
Knowledge in pharmacy financial management, financial budgeting and forecasting, prescription adjudication, specialty pharmacy medications including REMS program management, Limited Distribution Drug and Network best practices, specialty pharmacy contracting, data management, accreditation processes and general specialty pharmacy practice.
Understanding of URAC Specialty Pharmacy Accreditation and the accreditation process.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and a sound work ethic.
Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills.
Ability to collaborate and work well in a multi-disciplinary team environment; including the ability to manage projects and deadlines, and to set and meet goals and priorities for self and others with minimal supervision.
Problem-solving skills to independently recognize and define a problem; identify the resources available to help solve the problem; create and implement viable solutions; and follow through to ensure the problem is resolved to the satisfaction of all parties.
Decision-making skills to independently exercise delegated authority to act, and to recognize when it is appropriate to seek assistance from others when limits of delegated authority have been reached.

Completion of an ASHP Ambulatory/HSPAL/Specialty Pharmacy residency.
Graduate degree in a related field (i.e., MBA, MHA, MPH).
PharmD, HSPAL PGY1/PGY2 residency or equivalent experience preferred
Previous Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) experience.
Clinical knowledge in Specialty Pharmacy focused disease states, familiarity with the Specialty Medication pipeline, Clinical Trials and FDA approval process.
This position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.
