The Department of Veterans Affairs NY Harbor Healthcare System is seeking a full-time Infectious Diseases physician at its Campus in Brooklyn, New York. The position requires outstanding clinical, teaching, and interpersonal skills. Responsibilities will include the provision of comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care to patients with HIV/AIDS, travelers' services, supervision of Infectious Disease fellows, and participation in the inpatient ID consultation service and the antibiotics stewardship program. Expertise to develop and engage in clinical research is highly desirable. In addition, the incumbent will have clinical responsibilities to the Medical Service, including periodic service as attending assigned to a general medical inpatient team, preceptor to third year medical students and additional ad hoc clinical, teaching, and administrative assignments as may be required by the Chief of the Medical Service. The Brooklyn Campus of NYHHS is a major teaching affiliate of State University of New York Downstate Medical Center, and the successful candidate will be appointed at SUNY Downstate at an academic level commensurate his or her experience. The candidate must have completed three years of Internal Medicine training in an accredited program, as well as a fellowship in Infectious Diseases. Board Certification in Internal Medicine, and Board Eligibility or Certification in Infectious Diseases are required. He/she must be licensed in any state.
