You Will Be Responsible For:
Evaluates delivery of care system.
Ensures compliance with quality measures through concurrent and retrospective review, identification of deficiencies and implementing corrective actions through education of staff.
Assists in providing staff education related to sepsis.
Assists with the development and maintenance of research protocols
Will serve as co-chair of the Sepsis Committee, draft the meeting agenda/meeting minutes.
Coaches and mentors staff and communicates information to Team members. Acts as a resource to the Education Team
Liaison to ED; participates and provide reports to the ED staff, provides support
Liaison to ICU (and any department) house-wide re: any information related to Sepsis and the care of patients
Complete and submit departmental reports on a monthly basis- orchestrates execution plans for improvement as content expert.
Collaborates with Nurse Managers/Directors prior to execution.
Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost and impact on practice in the delivery of nursing services.
Monitors utilization of resources to deliver quality of care in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner
Maintains Program accreditations. Improves clinical outcomes by identifying processes that promote high-quality cost-effective patient care. Improves and maintains productive relationship with the ED and EMS by promoting an ongoing dialogue, identifying areas of improvement and implementing action plans.
Maintains a high quality of care by investigating any pertinent risk occurrences or complaints and
implementing appropriate action plans. Participates in ongoing staff development

Bachelors in Nursing or other healthcare related field
Minimum of five years in Acute Care Setting
Strong knowledge base of Sepsis a must as well as a strong understanding of ED and ICU patients
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
Florida State License as a RN
The Sepsis Coordinator is a health care professional who works in collaboration with the medical and hospital staff to provide multidisciplinary care to the septic patient. The Sepsis Coordinator provides clinical, professional expertise for patients, families, staff members and to healthcare providers. The scope of practice includes ensuring organized care is provided to the patient with sepsis with a focus on health promotion and disease prevention.
The Coordinator also functions as a resource and coordinates in critical care/sepsis patient care management and outcomes.
