VA Medical Center Health Care System-Health Informatics Specialist Integrator is assigned the responsibility to Demonstrate understanding of Safety Assessment Scores, Joint Patient Safety Reporting (JPSR), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Healthcare Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (HFMEA), systems thinking, accident/close call investigations, and ticket analysis. Identification of patient safety concerns surfaced through Service Now (SNow) tickets for EHRM/Cerner Change Requests. Represents informatics patient safety concerns on the Health Informatics Integrated Change Request Subcommittee. Coordinate with Informatics Change Request Workgroup membership on troubled tickets and new capability gaps, review facility challenges, identify patterns, and coordinates lessons learned and updates and optimization of capability solutions. Manages EHR change requests approved by the Facility Informatics Change Request Workgroup using the service and support system. Receives tickets for change requests. Logs change requests into the tracker Forwards change request to submitter and voting members Sends change request through electronic voting process if urgent Provides feedback to HI IIC voting members whether request was denied or approved Fully evaluates problems related to informatics for patient safety related concerns and aid in the prioritization of these problems. Works closely with the facility Patient Safety Manager (PSM) and Veterans Integrated Services Network (VISN) Patient Safety Officer (PSO) when patient safety related concerns are identified to contribute to system wide high reliability. ???????Participates in error or near miss investigations for complete understanding of the issues and provide guidance for solution implementation, and possible ongoing failure modes. Demonstrates expert knowledge of defined EHR roles. Coordinate with local trainers and subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather, document, and forward real-time data observed from the live system that is required to clarify and/or validate items working through the issue resolution and governance process. Manages databases and task management tools for tracking and prioritizing EHR related issues and generates reports/regular updates to facility leadership, facility Integrated Informatics Committee (IIC), and external oversight or support agencies. Contributes to joint federal agency decisions and participates in the development of shared governance artifacts and processes to manage a unified HIT system configuration and/or development approach on behalf of VHA. Communicates informatics patient safety recommendations and changes to maintain and optimize processes that deliver safe health information technology (HIT) solutions. Applies a true end-to-end process to identify and evaluate informatics patient safety issues related to workflows and develops solutions based on best practice guidelines, lessons learned, and the best available evidence. Leads meaningful and coordinated use of subject matter experts to support decision-making on informatics patient safety issues to optimize care processes and the tools that support the business. Collaborates with the VAMC Patient Safety Manager when Cerner Tickets identify a patient safety issue and facilitates appropriate actions. Participates with the facility PSM on the collection and tracking of Cerner related JPSRs. Oversee facility with user adoption and optimization of the EHR.
