Department of Veteran Affairs Maryland Health Care System has two opening for Food Service Worker Supervisor, one in Perry Point VA Medical Center and one in Loch Raven VA Medical Center. Food Service Worker Supervisor responsible for directing, planning, organizing and monitor all phases of healthcare service for patient in various inpatient and outpatient setting, monitors the quality, timeliness and accuracy of food delivery services to patients. Major Duties Independently coordinating/directing daily operation of the food service areas using standards, procedures, diet manual, modified menus and production sheets to guide the work Responsible for the attendance, production and efficiency of Food Service Workers supervised by this position. Meets deadlines for meal service to ensure timely tray delivery to patient three times per. day. Plans and coordinates the maintenance and cleaning procedures to be followed routinely to ensure safe and sanitary conditions in all food service areas. Responsible for the security of all equipment, food and other supplies in the areas assigned. Frequently and consistently checks on work in the main kitchen and ward dining rooms while in progress to correct work habits or practices, to reinforce quality workmanship. Evaluate employee performance, and to ensure desired outcomes are achieved. Adjust work assignments as necessary to achieve the most effective work operations. Develops and directs operational functions to maintain high standards of service, delivery, sanitation, and safety. Investigates any issues related to meal delivery and implement corrective actions. Trains new employees and evaluates the results. Ensures food preparation, nourishment preparation, ward stock, meal assembly, and sanitation areas are provided at appropriate timeframes. Checks the efficient operations, sanitation, and safety of all equipment. Interviews applicants for Wage Administrative position. Participates in assigned process action teams and task forces within the facility. Promote excellent customer service. Answers general questions regarding meal service to staff, patients and family members. Pull reports using computerize system, to include Microsoft office. Ensures that appropriate reports and administrative records are maintained, organized and submitted in a timely manner. Other duties as assigned.
