The Department of Radiation Medicine at Northwell Health and the Zucker School of Medicine located on the border of NYC and Nassau County seeks a board eligible or board-certified radiation oncologist to join the department at the Assistant Professor level with a start date for summer 2022.
Eligible applicants will possess an M.D., D.O. or equivalent medical doctoral degree e.g. MBBS or MBChB, will have completed radiation oncology residency in an ACGME-accredited program, and have medical licensure in NY by the start date.
Demonstrated clinical experience and interest in treating patients with CNS and head and neck malignancies is required. It is anticipated that the successful faculty candidate will be an excellent clinical and translational researcher and committed teacher. We are particularly interested in candidates who have the skills to expand our collaborative group and investigator-initiated research program focused primarily on discoveries that can be used to improve the care of patients with CNS and head and neck malignancies.
The major criteria for appointment for faculty are excellence in clinical care, clinical teaching, and scholarship that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need of the Department and Cancer Institute.
Individuals appointed as Assistant Professors will have completed their house staff training and, where appropriate, postdoctoral fellowship training. They must demonstrate excellence or promise of excellence in clinical care, teaching and scholarly activity. There should be evidence that candidates have the promise to attain regional and national recognition for excellence in these areas. They should have demonstrated during their house staff and fellowship training a commitment to teaching, and they should have the potential to meet or exceed acceptable standards in teaching.
