The Interventional Neuroradiology Division of the Department of Radiology in the College of Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Little Rock, AR is seeking a Division Chief. The Division Chief will be responsible for leading the division in the clinical, education, and research areas as we continue our mission to improve health and patient care throughout Arkansas.
The successful candidate will demonstrate substantial administrative and leadership skills with the ability to enhance clinical growth, promote academic advancement, and facilitate research. The division currently has three neurointerventional radiologists who share clinical and call responsibilities. The ideal candidate should be teamwork oriented with a mindset for service line delivery of health care. Our goal is to provide efficient delivery of health care in addition to our education-oriented program. The candidate would be highly involved in residency and fellow training and will be involved in multidisciplinary conferences. The interventional neuroradiology faculty are expected to be involved in clinical research. In addition, we also collaborate with other neuroradiology faculty at our sister institutions at the VA Hospital and Arkansas Children’s Hospital. Prior experience with physician staffing, recruitment, retention, and components of group practice management is preferred. The ideal candidate should qualify for advanced rank appointment of Associate Professor or Professor. The Division Chief will be a key member of Executive Council of Radiology, the decision making body of the COM Radiology Department, along with other division chiefs and the Chair.
UAMS is the only comprehensive stroke center (CSC) and Level 1 trauma center in central Arkansas. We provide subspecialized expertise for a wide breadth of neurovascular and spine procedures in collaboration with the varied subspecialists in neurosurgery, neurology, otolaryngology and neuroopthalmology. Our service includes providing services to a comprehensive neuro-oncology center, and a long recognized world renowned myeloma institute. UAMS is a 514-bed tertiary care center and is equipped with 5 CT and 7 MRI scanners (two 3T and 5 1.5T) as well as two single plane and two bi-plane angiography suites. The radiology department provides 24-hour coverage in all modalities including CT and MR. We provide advanced neuroimaging for comprehensive evaluation of brain tumors (MR perfusion/tractography and MRI).
In addition to Interventional Neuroradiology, the Department of Radiology faculty offer expertise across key Divisions including MSK, Body Imaging, Breast, Interventional Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, Neuroradiology, Radiology Sciences and Pediatric Radiology. We provide comprehensive outpatient and inpatient care in conjunction with appropriate consultants and specialists for the diagnosis of a broad spectrum of diseases. Our mission is to provide high quality patient care while training the next generation of diagnostic radiologists.
Candidates must hold an M.D. or equivalent degree, be either BE/BC by the ABR and have medical licensure or eligibility in Arkansas. Candidates must also be fellowship-trained and possess Certification of Added Qualification (CAQ) by the American Board of Radiology or CAQ eligible. Faculty rank will be commensurate with experience.
