This position tours the facilities and grounds; assists with the welfare and safety of personnel and patients; investigates critical incidents; assists employees, patients and visitors; interfaces with emergency response agencies; secures doors; monitors parking and traffic control. Uses integrity and honesty when performing assigned security duties. Reports all security violations, and performs duties promptly and accurately. Works varied assignments and shifts.

Full-Time/40 Hours per week

Exhibits excellent interpersonal skills and be customer service oriented in all contacts with patients, visitors and staff.
Tours and inspects facility frequently to assist in maintaining a safer and more secure environment. Assists employees with security related matters and enforces parking regulations and traffic control. Responds to all emergency codes for assistance and control.
Investigates and completes written reports of complaints, critical security incidents and unusual activities involving patients, employees and visitors; submits all reports to the security leadership by the end of the shift in which the report occurs. Maintains an accurate log of all relevant security activities during each shift.
Locks and unlocks facility doors at prescribed times. Checks unoccupied areas and sets the alarms when appropriate. Does money pick-ups from departments, logs pick-ups and successfully delivers the contents to the appropriate destination department. Releases bodies from the morgue, ensuring that all paperwork is complete. Checks alarms and fire extinguishers to ensure they are in proper working order. Escorts patients, visitors and employees. Assists medical staff in restraining and handling disturbed patients.
Presents a professional appearance and demeanor at all times. Creates and promotes a positive work environment. Assists and supports co-workers and other FHP staff as needed. Implements and assists others with work site changes.
Develops improvements for work processes, efficiencies and quality. Communicates with co-workers, supervisors and other FHP staff to problem solve and improve quality, processes and services. Grows and improves job skills, knowledge, performance, and education. Attends in-services trainings and educational programs as directed. Provides parking enforcement.
Based on area of assignment may assist in the maintenance and preservation of confidential health documents including the review and investigation of HIPPA violations in the electronic patient health information systems.
Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Provides all customers of Foundation Health with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating our core and leader behaviors each and every day.
Must possess a valid drivers license and be eligible for coverage under the company auto insurance policy.
Must possess the ability to make accurate observations and exercise good independent judgment in a variety of situations (including emergencies). Must have the ability to write comprehensive security reports.
Prefer experience in a similar healthcare capacity
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
