MSKCC IMPACT assay is a robust database that plays a large role in cancer at this institution. Sequence data is acquired for IMPACT patients however, outside of demographics and lab values very little clinical information exists as structured data for these patients. The pan cancer IMPACT curation effort is for third party vendors to curate unstructured data elements for IMPACT patients in order to create structured data that can be utilized for future cancer efforts.
We are seeking a Research Project Associate to join the Division of Health Informatics (DHI) department that is in collaboration with the Genitourinary Oncology Service (GU) in the Department of Medicine (DOM) . You will be responsible for thequality assurance and assessment on data curated from a third-party vendor employed by MSKCC. You will attend meetings with disease management (GU) liaison as well as third-party vendor employees regarding the curated patient dataset. You will answer questions that arise from these meetings.
You will maintain the quality of patient data in a redcap database by assessing clinical data from HIS, CIS, EMR.
You will require the utilization of knowledge from training by Q/A clinical GU advisor to assess the accuracy and precision of curated data elements from third party vendor.
You will work closely with biostatisticians and other departments on data cleaning and assist in the creation of an abstract/manuscript publication.
You will develop new creative ideas in facilitating and capturing accurate information being curated for IMPACT patients.
You will ensure the weekly assessment of patient data records and implement any changes needed to enhance the precision of data elements per patient reviewed.
You will generate reports to all necessary parties on the progress of the patient quality curation from VASTA.
Adept at learning quickly, applying insights from past efforts to new situations.
An effective communicator, capable of determining how best to reach different audiences and executing communications based on that understanding.
Action-oriented and eager to embrace new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm.
Bachelor's degree, (preferred) with 1-4 years of clinical experience.
Experience with building and managing databases preferred.
Experience with Redcap database preferred.
Have considerable experience with HIS and medical knowledge.
Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
