The HR Generalist is responsible for delivery of day-to-day and strategic human resources services in support of Baylor Scott and White Health goals, mission, values, and vision. The HR Generalist will work under the general guidance of the HR Business Partner, HR Manager, or HR Director and partners with the facility HR team and leaders to develop and deliver sound business solutions for anticipated, existing, and new business challenges. The Generalist possesses an overall understanding of HR policies and practices and works collaboratively with assigned business units to support the strategic direction of BSWH.
The essential functions of the HR Generalist include the following:
Collaborate with other human resource colleagues and business leadership to produce innovative solutions by learning how to examine existing processes and suggesting improvements in a collaborative way.
Participate in training and professional development activities associated with change management and partner with senior HR team to gain credibility and ensure alignment.
Provide guidance and counsel to employees and managers regarding basic employee relations issues; respond to external state and federal agencies to investigate and resolve employee complaints.
Collaborate with managers and other human resource colleagues to assess and analyze root cause issues and ensure appropriate actions taken to promote employee satisfaction and to reduce controllable turnover.
Receive, track and respond to unemployment claims in an efficient and timely manner.
Investigate routine EthicsLine complaints and other allegations of unfair treatment, document findings, and ensure appropriate follow-up is completed; review recommendations with appropriate team member for proper correspondence.
Assist and advise managers with performance evaluations, merit increases, salary adjustments, job offers, special cash awards, and other compensation related activities; use compensation tools and training guides when formulating recommendations or offering guidance related to compensation challenges and issues.
Coach managers in use of behavioral based interviewing techniques and/or peer interviewing.
The ideal candidate for this role must have a basic understanding of Baylor Scott & White Health’s total reward compensation, benefits, recognition, policies and practices to protect the interests of Baylor affiliated business units and individual employees is essential for the role. The candidate must have the ability to create and use reports to document, assess and analyze turnover, vacancy, patient satisfaction, and other metrics required to support Baylor Scott & White Health goals and objectives and will share data and information appropriately, within established guidelines.
