This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Dallas, TX Salary Range: $56,893.00 to $131,853.00 per year Bonham, TX Salary Range: $57,383.00 to 120,969.00 per year The primary purpose of the Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) is to improve the quality of patient care and to better prepare nurses to thrive in the health care system. The CNL role engages highly skilled clinicians in outcome-based practice and quality improvement. The CNL oversees the care coordination of a distinct group of patients and actively provides direct patient care in complex situations. The CNL collaborates with the Nurse Manager and frontline staff to evaluate the clinical expertise and practice of the nursing staff. The Master's degree-prepared clinician puts evidence-based practice into action to ensure that patients benefit from the latest innovations in care delivery. The CNL evaluates patient outcomes, assess cohort risk, and has the decision-making authority to change delivery of care system processes within the assigned microsystem. The CNL possesses clinical expertise in specialty practice areas and uses interpersonal skills to empower nurses and other healthcare providers to deliver quality patient care. The CNL is directly involved in providing clinical care that continuously improves outcomes through influencing others. Other fundamental aspects of the CNL role includes oversight of patient care delivery, standardization of care, and delegation of care. The CNL promotes an environment that embraces new knowledge, innovation, and continuous improvement by: Leading and organizing delivery of care to assure continuity of care and peer accountability for practice, including access to care and discharge planning; Assimilating and applying research-based evidence to design, implement, and evaluate client plans of care; Functioning as an expert in clinical practice and/or areas related to the assigned roles and responsibilities; Systematically evaluating current practice, and formulating outcomes for groups of patients and/or organizational processes; Guiding, developing, and supporting staff from a leadership perspective; Using professional standards of care, scientific evidence, and practice to evaluate programs and/or service activities. Work Schedule: Monday- Friday, 7:30am -4:00pm or 8:00am- 4:30pm. May be required to work other shifts, be on call, work weekends and/or holidays as patient care and agency needs dictate.
