This position is located at the Hampton VA Medical Center in Hampton, VA. The position serves as a leader in the transformation of health care from a disease-based model of care to a pro-active, patient-driven model of care, delivered in a Whole Health System (WHS). This position is grant funded and is not to exceed one (1) year. Major duties include but not limited to: Directs personnel management program for the WHS by making decisions on personnel actions including selections, promotions, reassignments, retention, and recommendations for adverse actions pertaining to employee performance or conduct. Responds to EEO complaints and unfair labor practice charges. Manages the facility level Whole Health System budget, including, but not limited to salary of personnel; services related to fee based screening; enhancements to existing complementary approaches; group wellness approaches; promotion of healthy eating, and patient engagement; facility space; training and travel activities for staff development and VISN WHS Strategic planning meeting; training and educational materials; and equipment for newly allocated WHS space. Monitors and establishes procedures to contribute to the improvement of whole health outcomes for Veterans. Coordinates policies and procedures to assure Whole Health best practices and evidence-based guidelines related to a variety of complementary and integrative health approaches are carried out in medical center facilities and CBOCs. Works with research assistant to apply appropriate statistical techniques and other research methods to inform program progress and goal achievement. Tracks, monitors, and evaluates WHS professional staff competence in areas related to whole health and complementary and integrative health approaches to care. Responsible for developing and supporting the proactive training initiatives under the Whole Health System. Performs other duties as assigned.
