This position has responsibility for coordination of undergraduate and graduate clinical education activities at the Fairview Health Services system and works under the direction of the Education Manager. This position requires a solid understanding of academic hospital and outpatient clinic management to include, learner credentialing & onboarding, understanding of federal & state regulations specific to teaching institutions, hospital affiliations, accreditation and certification requirements for clinical learners.
Key contact for learners participating in the clinical education program within Fairview, including onboarding, orientation, training, and any ongoing and day-to-day needs.
Assists with education-related process improvement projects, including clinical learning environment project management oversight.
Coordinates clinical placement of learners
Coordinates annual review of available placements within the system for assigned learner groups
Assists education manager with data collection and reporting.
Oversees trainee compliance.
Liaison with schools main contact for specific programs/MERC applicant Liaison with clinical sites
Collaborates with Government reimbursement on learner data for reimbursement & reporting
Responsible for learner work environment
Assists with data entry into visual management system and daily engagement system management.
Manages individual learner incident quality and safety reports (COMPASS system) in collaboration with risk management and the UMMC Medical Staff Office.
Assists with federal and state regulatory/compliance requirements.
Manages clinical graduate medical education observers (onboarding/compliance/placement).
Assists with clinical application requests and meal card requests, including tracking of funds
Manages clinical learner information and preceptor information within the designated Learning Management system
Assists with reported call room & exercise room issues and check on status of room conditions regularly
Liaison to the security monitor program for call rooms & hospital security for badge creation and access
Works with key stakeholders to update their education materials and moves education modules to current system utilized for education modules.
Maintains & updates information on the education website
Participates in weekly education huddles.
2 years of healthcare-related experience.
Masters degree preferred
3-5 years working in a medical education office or senior administrative level.
Management in an equivalent joint commission accredited academic health care facility.
