Healthcare-Associated Infection (HAI) Prevention Program Manager

The Florida Department of Health is seeking a Healthcare-Associated Infection (HAI) Prevention Program Manager. The HAI program manager maintains a program aimed at reducing healthcare-associated infections within Florida.  The program manager leads a team of epidemiologists and data analysts that collectively work towards reaching programmatic goals.

• Responsible for program communication including phone calls, emails, and webinars.
• Establish and maintain partnerships with key stakeholders (Center for Diseases Control (CDC), Boards, Councils, and Committees as required by state or federal law) such as members of the HAI Advisory Board and other health care professionals, facilities and associations as determined and recommended by the CDC.
• Conduct site visits at health care facilities participating in sponsored projects to provide live training, assess process measures defined by the CDC and the HAI Advisory Board, and consult on program implementation.
• Coordinate and collaborate HAI prevention activities
• Design PowerPoint slides and other training materials concerning the HAI Prevention Program per guidelines
• Perform presentations via webinar or travel to present in-person at conferences and meetings as requested and approved
• Coordinate and facilitate the Florida HAI Advisory Board
• Oversee and review the development of training tools, presentations, and webinars created by HAI Program staff to ensure compliance with CDC guidelines to support the implementation of evidence-based prevention strategies.
• Provide technical subject matter expertise in healthcare-associated infections and infection control protocols for grant applications by drafting plans to complete grant deliverables for review. Complete progress reports for the CDC HAI Prevention Infrastructure and HAI and antibiotic resistance grants which detail progress toward meeting technical guidelines for the HAI Prevention Program.
• Distribute to HAI Prevention Program staff and other staff a summary of technical information reviewed during CDC HAI conference calls and other appropriate webinars, conference calls, and trainings as determined by the CDC or the area of infection control, Ebola preparedness, and infection reporting.
• Perform HAI data reviews using subject matter expertise to support data-driven decision making and evaluate progress based on CDC guidelines and grant deliverables as directed.
• Collaborate with the surveillance section and investigations unit on outbreaks and providing subject matter expertise on epidemiologically significant organisms by participating in conference calls and completing written assignments.
