Kindred Healthcare and Palomar Health have signed a Joint Venture and recently celebrated the groundbreaking of a new acute inpatient rehabilitation hospital. The two-story, 58,000-square-foot facility will feature 52 inpatient beds and is located on the campus of
Palomar Medical Center in Escondido, California.
The new hospital will offer treatment services to a variety of rehabilitation patient types, including brain injury and stroke patients. This will be San Diego County's first standalone rehabilitation hospital. Expected to open in 2021, this facility comes as Palomar and Kindred continues to run its existing inpatient rehabilitation program, which has been run by Kindred since 2000.
As the Lead Environmental Services Aide you will:
Plans, organizes, coordinates and controls the activities of the Environmental Services Department. This position performs cleaning duties in the hospital in order to keep it in a clean and orderly condition.
Job Specific:
Cleans patient rooms, restrooms, lounges, offices, corridors, walls and windows daily or as scheduled.
Vacuums, sweeps, mops floors; replaces paper and soap products in restrooms, cleans mirrors, sinks and toilets, etc.
Operates various types of equipment and machinery to include vacuums, hand trucks, and mini-extractors.
Collects and remove trash from buildings each day.
Inspects and evaluates physical condition of the hospital.
Submits recommendations to management for painting, repairs, and furnishings, relocation of equipment and reallocation of space.
Periodically inventories equipment and supplies.
Investigates new and improved cleaning equipment, methods and supplies and communicates information to employees.
Properly trains and guides EVS personnel within established policy.
Assigns daily tasks to EVS personnel to ensure proper coverage of the hospital.
Participates in information management, performance improvement and infection control programs.
Ensures compliance with JCAHO, federal, state and local regulations and standards.
Reports any malfunctions and maintenance problems.
Other duties as assigned.
High School Graduate or equivalent preferred.
Previous experience in acute care setting preferred.
Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience required.
Ability to communicate with patients, visitors and other hospital staff.
Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
