Site PACS Admin

We are looking for a Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) Admin. This is a full time, day, benefit eligible position. Will travel to and work at The University of Minnesota Medical Center-East Bank, St. Johns and Maple Grove Hospitals. This position includes a weekend rotation.

This role is responsible for administering the day-to-day operations of the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and acts as a liaison and member of the IT Imaging team. The individual is responsible for oversight and coordination of existing and new PACS and digital imaging initiatives. This person is also responsible for maintaining and ordering diagnostic workstation hardware and troubleshooting modality PACS communication configurations.

• Maintains equipment and operation of PACS system.
• Handles the day-to-day operation of PACS equipment.
• Evaluate and make recommendations regarding image workflows, archiving, auto routing, prefetching.
• Completes capture of digital image data, network transmissions, RIS validation, and exception handling in a timely manner.
• Knowledge of PACS systems and ability to navigate digital systems efficiently.
• Participates in continuous process improvement.
• Investigates, identifies, and prepares proposals to solve operational problems.
• Knowledge of quality/process improvement tools and methods.
• Maintains customer satisfaction.
• Reviews feedback from customers.
• Compiles and analyzes support data.
• Recommends procedural and educational changes.
• Oversees activities of vendors in all phases of installation and implementation of new systems.
• Ability to focus on customer needs.
• Ensures that all departmental, hospital, and regulatory guidelines are met for operations.
• Maintains knowledge of applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

Required

• 2 year technical degree or a combination of education and PACS Administration, Radiology or Information Technology experience totaling 5 years
• 3 years of PACS Administration, Radiology or Information Technology experience

Preferred

• Bachelors degree
• 5 years of PACS Administration experience
• 2 Years Imaging Technologist experience
• 2 Years Supporting Radiologist Information Technology
• PACS Administration or SIMMS certification
