Job Title: Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner - Orthopedics - Foot & Ankle Cost Center: 454000 Mfld-Ortho-Foot & Ankle Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Employee Type: Regular Work Shift: Mon-Fri; 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (United States of America) Job Description: JOB SUMMARY The Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner is a skilled member of the allied health care team who is qualified both academically and clinically to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients under the supervision of a licensed physician. The Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner works within a cooperative unit, utilizing team effort with health care providers, co-workers, and the public to provide positive patient interaction. Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield, Wisconsin is seeking a NP or PA for our Orthopedic Foot and Ankle practice. Our team of orthopedic colleagues throughout our system of care includes Fellowship-trained Spine, Trauma, Hand, Foot & Ankle, Sports Medicine, Shoulder Elbow, Pediatrics and Total Joint Specialists. The practice boasts an exceptional facility with a large ASC, advanced imaging on site, in-office fluoroscopy, and adjacent inpatient recovery short-stay suites. This position includes No Call responsibilities. The NP or PA in this role will run full support practice in the clinic while the provider is performing surgeries. Procedures in this role will include castings, sutures, wound vacs and injections. JOB QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation. Minimum Required: Graduate of a nationally accredited Physician Assistant Program/ Nurse Practitioner program. Preferred/Optional: None EXPERIENCE Minimum Required: None Preferred/Optional: One year in specialty. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position. Minimum Required: Certification from the National Commission on Certifications of Physician Assistants. Must be eligible to obtain or already hold a current State of Wisconsin Physician Assistant licensure. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire. Preferred/Optional: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
