| ResponsibilitiesIn this key position, you will perform a wide variety of technical procedures for the Anesthesia and Core Laboratory located at RR-UCLA Med Center. Your responsibilities will include specimen processing; laboratory testing; maintaining and repairing laboratory instruments; performing quality control and calibration; sample processing; reagent preparation; and data entry. Note: the normal working hours for this position is 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., Monday through Friday. Qualifications•A current California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License •Two years of recent experience performing testing in a high volume laboratory, preferred •Recent demonstrated technical competence in high volume chemistry/hematology •Able to work effectively under conditions of fluctuating workload, often changing from one task to another •Able to work in an environment with variations in temperature, instrument noise, usage of toxic or hazardous chemicals, fumes, odors and biological agents and interaction with sick patients •Able to perform repetitive tasks (i.e. pipetting, computer data entry) •Skill in recording data accurately and legibly •Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal •Must be a strong team player UCLA is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
