MARKET SUMMARY: The East Region includes Tenet hospitals, USPI facilities and TPR in Tennessee, Massachusetts, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, and New Jersey.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Hospital Lead-East Region has responsibility for managing the implementation of Tenet�s Ethics and Compliance program within the hospitals in the applicable compliance geographic group. The Hospital Lead-East Region position provides leadership in the group for ethics and compliance matters and coordinates on ethics and compliance related matters with the operational group leads (group CEO, group CFO, etc.) in that region. The position will also directly supervise the other compliance officers within the region.
FUNCTIONAL EXPECTATIONS & REQUIREMENTS: Among the specific responsibilities and activities of the HCO are the following:
Coordination of compliance activities within the compliance region; Serve as compliance point of contact for leadership with respect to region-wide initiatives. Directly supervise and manage a team of compliance professionals within the region. Provide day-to-day compliance oversight for assigned facilities, including advising facility leadership on strategic initiatives and ensuring effective implementation of Tenet�s ethics and compliance program. Oversee efforts, coordinating with other departments as necessary to prevent, detect and address risk areas and compliance concerns, including assistance with investigation of compliance and ethics concerns, identification of potential risk areas, and development of auditing, monitoring and oversight processes
Qualifications:
CANDIDATE EXPERIENCE, ATTRIBUTES AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Required experience includes: Strong preference for at least five years� experience in healthcare compliance matters, preferably for a large, multi-faceted healthcare company. The successful candidate will be recognized for demonstrated knowledge in compliance process improvement and the requirements of Federal healthcare programs. Other success factors include past clinical, legal, auditing or other compliance experience. Clear, concise and persuasive writing and presentation skills. Strong organizational skills and an orientation to deadlines and detail. Ability to respond well under pressure. Skills in use of information systems, databases, Excel and Microsoft Word. Enjoys working as a member of a cohesive team, and is good at doing so. Well-developed communications and consensus building skills. Strong presentation skills.

Education/Certifications A Bachelor�s degree is required and a Master�s degree is preferred. Compensation A competitive compensation program will be tailored to the selected candidate. Base salary will be supplemented by a performance bonus and comprehensive, well-rounded benefits program, which includes relocation assistance. The performance bonus is based on the performance of Tenet as reflected in its Balanced Scorecard rather than the performance of the Hospital. Travel Approximately 25 percent. It is expected that the Compliance Hospital Lead, East Region will be active in a healthcare compliance association.
