Manager Trauma Program-Regional

Provides leadership and management for the development and ongoing operations of the trauma program. Coordinates and monitors the trauma service and systems to ensure a high quality, organized multidisciplinary approach to the care of the injured patient. Functions as a clinical nurse specialist in trauma care/services. Ensures a consistent excellent customer experience. Achieves trauma program growth, development and continual improvement through strategic planning initiatives.

• Coordinates trauma care management across the continuum of care, including planning and implementation of clinical protocols and guidelines. Works with the trauma medical director to manage all aspects of the trauma program.
• In partnership with the Trauma Medical Director and hospital administration in the development, implementation and evaluation of a process improvement plan which is multidisciplinary and patient-outcomes focused. Serve as the coordinator for the identification, investigation, reporting and follow up of incidents and quality issues throughout the program while maintaining confidentiality. Coordinate and schedule morbidity and mortality committee meetings. Analyze registry data on the trauma patient population; identify trends for strategic planning and process improvement.
• Manages the operational, personnel and financial aspects of the trauma program. Serves as a liaison to administration. Represents the trauma program on various hospital and community committees.
• Facilitates performance improvement activities and trend reports.
• Serves as an internal resource for all departments, and is the liaison for EMS agencies, and the community.
• Participates in the development of trauma care systems at the community, state, or national levels in collaboration with the System Director of Trauma Services.
• Directs and supports educational opportunities for professional staff. Provides community education and trauma prevention activities in collaboration with the System Director of Trauma Services.

Preferred Education

Masters Degree

Minimum Experience:

Demonstrated expertise in trauma care as evidenced by a minimum of five years experience in the ED,

Critical Care, or Trauma Services; experience in hospital PI programs and processes; ability to utilize data

for program analysis; demonstrates excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills;

comprehensive knowledge of pre-hospital, ED, and hospital systems; and the ability to work collaboratively

with all disciplines.

Preferred Experience :

Prior Trauma Program management experience with demonstrated success
