Financial Analyst - VICTR
JOB SUMMARY
In your pivotal role as a Financial Analyst, you will plan, develop and coordinate the preparation of financial analyses and reports to assess the viability of long-range strategic and financial plans and programs including, but not limited to, operational and capital budgets, financial statements, statistical reports, cost analyses and other financial information; monitor results from program and project implementation; perform complex and specialized assignments in assigned area of expertise; perform lead role in coordinating complex projects; perform primarily post-award financial activities.
KEY PERFORMANCE ELEMENTS
- Plan, develop and coordinate the preparation of financial analyses and reports including, but not limited to, operational and capital budgets, financial statements, statistical reports, cost analyses and other financial information.
- Develop long-range projections to model the financial impact of proposed programs and projects.
- Investigate and analyze detailed accounting system transactions in support of programs and projects.
- Utilize data in the development of forecasted income statements and assess balance sheets and cash flow impacts and monitor results from program and project implementation.
- Design, develop, and modify financial forecasting models, projections and simulations for specific programs through research and ensuring compliance (30% effort)
- Establish, through research, required databases or accumulate and analyze data from existing databases to perform the appropriate computations and analyses.
- Develop communications for distribution to senior leadership (i.e., Executive Vice President for Research, VICTR Executive Directors, Associate Directors, Project Managers) regarding financial position, cash flows, accounts, budgets, budget requests and related financial matters.
- Perform post-award financial activities, as needed.
- Supervise, coordinate and participate in the preparation of various financial reports and analyses for senior leadership and external agencies including analysis of progress toward program/project goals.
- Analyze budget impact of implemented programs/projects.
- Provide input for long range financial projections of current and planned programs/projects that have financial impact or implications on the department.
- Assist in the development, implementation and management of financial systems, cost accounting systems and/or financial policies and procedures as appropriate.
- Analyze and report on the effects of proposed federal and state statutes and regulatory actions that may impact long range financial planning.
