The Research Director of The Cooper Medical School of Rowan University’s (CMSRU) Center for Humanism will play a key role in developing and carrying out research initiatives and related projects. Will assist the center’s leadership in developing strategy that will strengthen both the center and the institution. The research director will actively search for sponsors and research partners within and outside the organization. Should be comfortable working independently, with the ability to meet project deadlines and balance multiple projects at one time.
Essential duties will include:
The definition of good research questions pertinent to the work of the Center
Design of research projects and their conduct and management, through to presentation and publication
Mentor medical students and engage faculty who may want to be involved in this work and learn research methodology
PhD/EdD preferred but Masters Candidates with at least 3-5 years of experience will be considered
Ability to communicate with patients, visitors and coworkers
Deeply committed, energetic and creative self-starter who is enthusiastic about research and project development
A history of self-funding is not an absolute requirement, but previous experience in the grant proposal process and a personal history of peer reviewed publications are important for this role.
