The NYU School of Medicine announces its search for a Chair of the Department of Cell Biology. Concurrently, this individual will be Director of the Skirball Institute. We are seeking a visionary, dynamic and creative scientist, or physician scientist, with a distinguished record of scientific achievements, who can expand and lead a next-generation Department of Cell Biology and the Skirball Institute and the NYU Grossman School of Medicine faculty to increase our leadership in the basic science. The selected Director should have the ability to foster collaborations, promote innovation and creativity. The candidate should have demonstrated leadership in a university, medical center or research institute setting, and realize and capitalize on the great research opportunities at the nexus of basic science and its applications. We expect the candidate to create and foster close collaboration with the other schools and colleges of New York University.
