Infection Preventionist, Full-Time, M-F, 8A-5P The primary function of the Infection Preventionist will be to work as a team member of the Infection Control Department. This will entail evidence based investigations, coverage of surveillance activity as necessary, support to Manager in policy and procedure development and coordination, involvement in surveillance activities as required, support in implementation of data systems as appropriate, investigation of infection control topics as assigned, support in providing site specific tracer activity as necessary and involvement in special projects as assigned. Patient, family, associate and physicians/provider education as appropriate. Position will serve as a knowledgeable and reliable resource of infection control information, regulation and guidelines. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES The primary customers of this position will be the patients, associates, medical staff and leadership team of the Nemours Delaware Valley patient care sites, affiliate sites and AI du Pont Hospital for Children. This position will provide support to all activities involving infection control, which will include research of current trends in this area, writing of policy, procedure, protocols and plans, support in investigation of trends and support in streamlining processes as assigned and appropriate. Will provide routine education and orientation to associates regarding topics associated with Infection Control. Will work closely with Infection Control manager to keep training and education materials current on this topic across all Nemours. Assists other departments in the development of policy and procedure for the care of patients, equipment, and the environment as assigned by the Infection Control management team. Assists the Infection Control manager in the interpretation and implementation of infection control standards and regulations. Performs environment of care surveillance as requested. Develops and implements frontline staff education related to evidence-based research in Infection Control. Reporting of communicable disease information and data as needed or by regulation, to the local Public Health Department. Supports the Infection Control team in liaison activities with external agencies where appropriate. Monitors hospital-wide clinic compliance to regulatory standards for infection control and related employee safety with the participation in tracer activity as assigned. Reports all findings to the Infection Control team for resolution. Supports Infection Control team in the on-going review and evaluation of aseptic technique, isolation practice, disinfection, and sanitation where assigned. EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
