Central Florida Behavioral Hospital is a 178-bed, private psychiatric hospital located in Orlando, FL. Central Florida Behavioral Hospital offers a full continuum of care including inpatient treatment services for children, adolescents and adults; and partial hospitalization, intensive out-patient and ECT treatment services for adults.
Patient Advocate The Patient Advocate investigates, resolves, documents and reports organization-specific patient and visitor compliments and concerns to leadership and staff. The Patient Advocate develops, implements and participates in customer service and patient relations initiatives related to the facility's mission and goals. The Patient Advocate meets with patients or representative who registers grievances in a timely manner to review the grievance and obtain needed information. The grievance is logged and tracked. A written response or resolution letter is provided to or sent to the patient or representative and includes the name(s) of the hospital contact person, the steps taken on behalf of the patient to investigate the grievance, the results of the grievance process and the date on completion.
Essential Job Duties:
Meets with patients to present the facility's patient's rights philosophy, ensures patients have received a copy of the patient's rights brochure and ensures that patients have signed the admission form stating they have received a copy of their rights.
Facilitates resolution of complaints/grievances/requests by patients and visitors in accordance to legal and regulatory requirements.
Documents complaints; listens to patient and patient family complaints, documents details and resolutions.
Rounds the units and other areas of the facility on a daily, or greater, basis; meets with patients and staff to assist and ensure patient satisfaction and care.
Acts as concierge for the facility; ensuring patient comfort and satisfaction, ensuring family and visitor's satisfaction, assisting staff with resolving issues.
Conducts Patient Rights/Patient Advocacy Community Groups.
Participate on committees, including PI Committee and Environment Of Care Committee, work groups and/or process improvement teams that improve customer satisfaction.
