Job Summary This position is responsible for providing personalized and professional coordination and communication regarding all registration aspects of care for those patients being cared for within the respective programs. The coordinator serves as a point of contact for all staff and clinicians, as well as patients, in ensuring that patients have insurance coverage for consultations and subsequent aftercare through insurance verification. The coordinator is responsible for providing skilled administrative support to physicians, nurse practitioners, and team staff to ensure smooth clinical operations. Support consists of schedule maintenance, faxing, scanning, ordering supplies, scheduling, and registration.
Performs a variety of registration duties, is not limited to: providing patient with the initial registration information, pre-registration, creates and/or chooses appropriate electronic record, gathers signature (electronic or otherwise), medical authorization/referral coordination insurance verification /and / or financial responsibility. Completes daily data entry and scanning of patient registration information and medical records. Verifies patient's demographic information is complete, accurate and current with each visit.
Oversees outpatient clinic offices operations including answering phones, scheduling visits, facilitating prescription refill orders, and manages Rightfax. Processing transcription from physicians.
Obtains authorization from insurance companies as applicable. Collects co-pays and payments required for procedures. Completes and submits daily deposits and or billing as applicable.
Facilitates communication between the transplant physicians and referring physicians, emergency department, and community physicians. Provides follow-up to ensure discharged inpatients are seen in the outpatient setting in a timely manner. Provides community referring office support and education by communicating and making office visits. Maintains all providers schedule ins EPIC and time off calendar. Update EPIC template changes as needed for time off or schedule changes.
Views email on a daily basis and provides supervisor with appropriate information and memorandums. Maintain inventory of office supplies/forms and places orders as required. Performs other duties as assigned. May perform other administrative functions as necessary and or performs other duties as assigned.
