The Department of Health Policy is seeking a qualified Program Manager candidate with strong organizational skills, unwavering attention to detail, and strong administrative project management expertise.
This position will oversee the creation and coordination of faculty/PI-led health policy grant and contract-specific processes, as well as the management of Department outreach and academic efforts.
The ideal candidate utilizes intermediate level organizational skills to perform a variety of project- and operations-related activities including the creation and tracking of institutional review board (IRB) and other project deliverable submissions, development of department quality management systems spanning multiple projects, and management of schedules for proposals, projects, and academic programs.
This position requires a person who can work well with a number of internal and external stakeholders, take initiative to proactively investigate and navigate enterprise processes, and ensure completion of assignments in a timely manner. The successful candidate should be extremely organized, efficient, detail oriented, a team player, and a self-starter. Additionally, the candidate should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to think and function independently, and be able to multi-task while remaining on schedule. The candidate should have experience with health policy issues including knowledge of the policy process and structure of the US health care system. Excellent time management and planning skills are essential. Proficiency with MS Office programs and ability to quickly learn new programs is needed.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
Department outreach and academic activities
Manage activities related to the launch of a new academic program
Plan, organize, and manage resources necessary for the successful completion of specific program goals and objectives
Determine the necessary processes for program objectives, disseminate relevant information and task appropriate audiences, track progress
Lead promotional activities for the program which may include creating website and online presence
Facilitate activities with various partners to complete specific objectives
Create and disseminate marketing materials
Determine and oversee the application process
Manage contact lists for the program
Partner with faculty to create academic documents
Continuously compile, review, and analyze process outcomes against the established goals, objectives, and timelines
Recommend and institute activities to improve future processes
Research program activities
Partner with PI to manage research portfolio activities that include internal and external partners
With minimal guidance from PIs, establish goals, objectives, and timelines for projects and tasks
Manage IRB and other project-specific submissions, tracking them for the life of the project(s)
Oversee data management activities of analysts assigned with the projects
Perform project management activities including managing project budgets and schedules, overseeing the development and submission of deliverables, and managing staff across a portfolio of projects
Prepare materials for publication, including copy editing and formatting documents
Create informational materials for dissemination
Manage database files and perform preliminary analysis which may including preparing charts, graphs, tables
Draft portions of grant proposals, reports, and project documents

Minimum Requirements: This position requires Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three years of relevant experience.
Preferred qualities and skills:
Master's degree in public health, health services, public policy, or a health-related discipline strongly preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills
