Serves as the senior administrative leader responsible for directing all strategic and operational aspects of Research Administration for assigned centers (e.g. Comprehensive Cancer Center, Center for Translational Science Activities (CTSA)), research offices (e.g.. Office of Sponsored Projects Administration (OSPA), Institutional Review Board (IRB), technology transfer and commercialization) and/or departments (e.g. Dept. of Medicine, Surgery, Biochemistry). For assigned area(s), responsible for administrative leadership for campus-based and system-wide strategic planning, budgeting, financial and personnel management, compliance, and policy development and implementation in collaboration with clinical and research physician/scientist leaders. Collaborates with administrative peers in clinical practice and education to assure integration of evaluating departmental/center research activities. Partners with physician/scientist leadership to recruit investigators/faculty. Serves as a knowledge expert and interprets/clarifies regulatory standards and reporting requirements. Reports to Vice Chair or Chair, Research Administration.
Qualifications Masters degree in business, health care administration or related field and five years of research and/or healthcare management experience required. Operational experience must include working with physicians and allied health staff. Must have demonstrated competencies in leadership, management, operations and communication. Broad based upper management experience is required in order to coordinate a wide range of activities in both clinic and hospital settings.
Additional qualifications Incumbents are expected to rotate through a variety of department or division assignments with the duration of the rotation usually being 3-6 years.

Compensation Detail Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $4,822.40, based on a full-time position.
