POSITION SUMMARY:

The Identity Management Administrator is responsible for supporting the end user's appropriate access and confidentiality of information and systems. The Identity Management Administrator must keep up to date with regulations, rules, and standards related to information and system security practices. He/she must understand strategic goals as they relate to access and protection of access in order to lead, direct, and implement the necessary controls and procedures to protect information systems assets from intentional or inadvertent access, modification, disclosure, or destruction. The Identity Management Administrator is also responsible for advising, training, and assisting customers in the access administration of their systems. The Identity Management Administrator will work closely with the IM Security team in insure security policies are maintained and followed. This individual will also assist the IM Security Team in supporting any forensic investigations they are conducting. The Identity Management Administrator is responsible for delivering high quality cost-effective solutions to all levels of users. This includes support for both the technology and processes. The Identity Management Administrator is also responsible for supporting the business goals and objectives for the Department, the Information Management Organization, and the organization as a whole.

JOB SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES:

• Keep abreast of developments, regulation, rules and standards associated with the security of medical data and information systems. Make certain that the Identity Management Administrator's Director is aware of situations where the institution may be at risk for the compromise of security of systems or data or the risk to the institution can be reduced.
• With limited supervision, perform all procedures necessary to ensure the safety of information systems assets and clinical patient data.
• Establish a consistent way for users to access the system. Establish consistency in the process of assigning and revoking system privileges.
• Work closely with the IM Security team insure IM Security policies and procedures are maintained.
• Assist the IM Security team in all compliance and forensic investigations.
• Define security access rights for applications in conjunction with the applications analysts and other end user representatives. Provide sign-ons with appropriate application access as requested by end-users.
• Interface with user community to understand their security needs and implement procedures to accommodate them. Conduct accurate evaluation of the level of security required.
• Communicate effectively with technical and application representatives on security issues.
• Develop and implement standards and procedures for security access and security related communication techniques. Maintain follow-up process for system deficiencies and end user trouble reports. Analyze and recommend procedural standards and changes to enhance user tasks and correct problem areas, as they become known.
• Contact vendors regarding service issues to receive support information or assistance as instructed by the supervisor.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation on the assigned systems.
• Identify and communicate issues regarding the effectiveness of data security and develop options and recommendations for the adoption of new policies and procedures. Monitors and audits security reports for unauthorized use of passwords. Produce required department reporting associated with projects and problems assigned. Documentation includes status and problem documentation summary within the problem management system.
• With minimal supervision, execute priorities, understand business application, answer technical questions and perform all assigned tasks. Serve as a resource to the project team for assigned client applications.
• Maintain and demonstrate good teamwork on assigned projects through actions and job performance.
• Provide effective Customer Service by being courteous, polite and friendly toward others at all times. Acknowledge customers immediately in order to determine need and help the customer resolve issue or request. Participate in departmental programs that promote and deliver exceptional customer service.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Chief Technology Officer or Chief Information Officer.

REQUIREMENTS:

A. Education/Skills:

• Bachelor degree in Business Information Systems; Computer Science; or related field is required but may be supplemented by equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of industry standards related to provisioning and access. Understanding of healthcare information system's needs.

B. Experience

• Two years of hands-on experience in information systems access and provisioning administration.

C. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:

• Certified Access Management Specialist (CAMS) preferred
