POSITION SUMMARY: The RN is responsible for managing patients admitted or being seen for medical conditions or surgical procedures; performs the primary function of a professional nurse leader in assessing, planning, guiding, and evaluating nursing care provided to patients. The RN provides safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy. Provides professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. The concepts of Patient Centered Care will provide the foundation for all nursing care. Assessments related to specific conditions, therapies and interventions are required. The RN shall oversee and guide nursing employees that are under their supervision. Responsible for interaction with hospital staff and/or ancillary departments regarding patient care, concerns, and conflicts with identification and assistance in resolutions. May be occasions when it will be necessary to work weekends, holidays, evenings, nights, and/or on-call/call-back status. Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times.

Physical Ability 1: ______ This employee will perform administrative work, i.e., sit at desk to work. Employees in this category should be capable of very light labor.
Physical Ability 2: ______ This employee will perform clerical and/or physical work; i.e., clerks and clinical directors. Work is fairly active, but a portion of the time is spent at a desk or office. Involves occasional light lifting (15 lbs.), considerable walking, some bending, stooping and squatting. Employees in this category should be capable of light labor.
Physical Ability 3: ______ This employee will perform moderate physical activity; i.e., maintenance, gardener, dietary, printer, stocker, or clinical supervisors. On feet most of the time. Involves bending, stooping, squatting, turning, reaching, and occasionally lifting objects weighing more than 35 pounds. Employees in this category should be capable of moderately heavy labor.
Physical Ability 4: ___X___ This employee will have heavy physical stress on the back. Includes police officers, truck drivers, sanitation, warehouse, personnel, construction, nurses, etc. Involves frequent heavy lifting - more than 50 pounds - often combined with bending or turning. Employees in this category should be capable of heavy sustained labor.
